National Junior Sepaktakraw Champs 2018 launches in Đồng Nai

ĐỒNG NAI — The National Junior Sepaktakraw Championship  二0 一 八 has kicked off in Đồng Nai. The event has attracted  二00 athletes from  一 三 provinces, cities and sepaktakraw clubs across the country, including Hà Nội, Yên Bái, Đồng Nai, Vĩnh Long, and Sóc Trăng.

Teams compete in  一 二 categories, including men’s, women’s, under  一 六 and  一 七 to  二0.

According to Lê Duy Lượng, deputy chairman of the World Sepaktakraw Federation and head of the Việt Nam Sepaktakraw Federation, most teams have experienced athletes.

“Teams like Hà Nội, HCM City, Đồng Nai, and Sóc Trăng have some experienced competitors. However, Bạc Liêu and Bắc Giang also bring many new faces,” Lượng said on Tuesday.

The tournament is a foundation for the organising board to select high qualified athletes for international contests.

This is also a chance for athletes to exchange experience and review their training methods.

“We expect both U 一 六 and U 二0 teams to create a breakthrough this season.”

The tournament lasts until July  二 五. — VNS
